Texas Recycles Day – Recycling drop off location Plano TX

Texas Recycles Day

I didn’t even know we had a “Texas Recycles Day” – but I’m happy to hear about it!  It’s a 1-stop drop off event.  What a great time to clean out the garage, or clean out the closets.

Saturday November 15, 2014 from 9am-12n you can drop your items at Chase Oaks Church located at 281 Legacy Drive in Plano TX.

Some of the items you can bring by:

Bicycles – all conditions, will be donated to children through Bikes for Tykes and Bicycle Recycle

Books – will be donated to Friends of the Plano Public Library

Smart Phones & iPads – will be refurbished for use at Christie Elementary School

Clothing & Textiles – mens, womens, childrens clothing, shoes, & accessories as well as toys, pots, pans, etc

Eye glasses & hearing aids – the Plano Evening Lions Club will distribute to those in need

Pet products – Plano Animal Services will collect pet carriers, crates, towels, etc.

Knitting supplies – Plano Senior Recreation Center will collect yard, needles, crochet hooks for seniors who create blankets for local hospitals

Blankets & sheets – The Samaritan Inn (Collin  County’s only homeless shelter) will accept clean gently used bedding. Twin sizes are a priority, but all sizes accepted.

Documents to be shredded – residential documents (no commerical business shredding) will be shred on site by DFWshredding.com. There is a 2-box limit per household

This is just another reason why living in Plano TX is so great.  Our community comes together and works together for the good of everyone.  If you want more information about this and other upcoming events visit www.livegreeninplano.com.
